The Master of Arts Program in the Social Sciences (MAPSS) at the University of Chicago invites applications for a part-time Lecturer in Anthropology for the 2017-18 academic year, renewable contingent on satisfactory performance and continued program need. The successful applicant will teach a total of three graduate courses in anthropology, principally oriented toward MAPSS students; hire and manage teaching assistants; advise a limited number of MA theses; support PhD and Law applicants with letters of recommendation; provide career development advice for students who take their anthropological training into professional employment; and contribute to the intellectual life and administrative needs of the program. Prior teaching experience is required. Familiarity with the University of Chicago's faculty and academic resources is strongly preferred. Applicants must have the PhD in-hand by August 31, 2017.
