The position consists of teaching and research on sex-encoded social relationships and gender identities; the various forms of inequalities and violence based on gender, gender identities and/or sexual orientation; relations to the body and the labor of gendering bodies; new forms of parenthood and transformations of discourses and practices related to gender.
Teaching a variety of core and optional undergraduate and graduate courses offered by the Department;
supervising graduate students (MA and PhD levels);
developing a distinctive research program with publishing in peer-reviewed journals;
performing administrative and academic duties for the Department, the Faculty and the University.
1. Have in hand a PhD degree in anthropology or a degree deemed equivalent by the Search Committee;
2. The capacity to supervise both undergraduate and graduate students in French (if not already fluent, support programme available).
More specifically, applicants must have:
conducted significant field work relating to feminist studies and the anthropology of gender;
a track record of scholarly publications;
