This position will be assigned to the main campus in Las Vegas, New Mexico.
The primary responsibilities of this position are to teach four lower, upper, and graduate-level Archeology and physical anthropology courses (preferably forensic anthropology) per semester; use various modes of instructions; conduct scholarly activities including research in Southwest archaeology and/or physical anthropology and publish the findings in academic publications; full participation in departmental activities; service on university committees; advise and mentor undergraduate and graduate level students, serve on thesis and Professional Paper committees; and other duties that may be assigned.
Candidate should demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to teach undergraduate and graduate level courses, supervise graduate student research, interest and commitment to working with diverse populations.

Minimum Qualifications: Applicants must have a terminal degree (Ph.D.), in Anthropology (ABD will be considered) with specialization in American Southwest archeology and physical anthropology.
Preferred Qualifications: Evidence of teaching related to American Southwest archeology and physical anthropology (background in forensic is favored), experience in Cultural Resource Management, membership and involvement in one or more professional organizations, experience in the use of technology in the classroom, and delivery of on-line/distance learning courses.
