The Department of Anthropology at the University of Florida, College of Liberal Arts and Sciences invites applications for a full-time, nine-month, tenure-accruing position at the rank of Assistant Professor to begin August 16, 2019. We seek a primatologist with research interests in behavior, evolution, and/or ecology of extant non-human primates. We are interested in candidates with a demonstrated record of original scholarship and who actively conduct field-based research. The selected candidate will be expected to obtain extramural funding to support their research, and be committed to excellence in teaching and student mentoring both on campus and in the field. The selected candidate will have opportunities to collaborate with other units on campus, such as Biology/Zoology (CLAS), Psychology (CLAS), Florida Museum of Natural History (FLMNH), Biodiversity Institute, Emerging Pathogens Institute, Genetics Institute, and Tropical Conservation and Development (TCD).
The successful candidate must have a Ph.D. in Anthropology, or related discipline, by August 15, 2019. The salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience, and includes a full benefits package.
The Department of Anthropology at the University of Florida has 30 faculty members, 125 graduate students, and 325 undergraduate majors.
