We are seeking a Masters’ or PhD level research assistant with backgrounds in public health, sociology, anthropology, history, or allied fields to conduct research for a Wellcome Trust-funded research initiative entitled “Data Sharing in Public Health Emergencies: Anthropological and Historical Accounts of Data Sharing in Outbreaks.
The research assistant will be expected to participate as a full team member in a multi-partner consortium of historians and anthropologists to study DATA SHARING during two outbreaks: #1: Yellow fever virus (YFV), DRC/Angola/China (2016)intervention. #2: Ebolavirus disease (EVD), West Africa (2014-15).
The appointment is for six months, from June-November 2018. Work is remote/home-based, with possibility of limited project-supported travel. We are seeking individuals with topical and regional expertise; Masters’ or PhD level training; written linguistic competency in French would be useful, additional Portuguese or Chinese would be a plus. Facility with Mendeley is preferable.
We are also interested in individuals with academic or professional backgrounds in quantitative and qualitative data sharing. Tasks will include literature review, primary and secondary research, writing, editing, and general project management. Pay is competitive. Preference is given to individuals with prior experience with data sharing, and with countries and diseases under research.
