Visiting Assistant Professor in Latin American Studies

Bucknell University's Latin American Studies Program (LAMS) invites applications for a one year Visiting Assistant Professor in Latin American Studies to begin August 2018. The successful candidate will be a Latin Americanist, PhD by start date (current ABD will be considered), with interests in interdisciplinary work in the Social Sciences and/or and Humanities. Applicants will demonstrate a commitment to exceptional undergraduate teaching and mentoring, evidence of scholarly work in Latin American Studies and proficiency in Spanish and/or Portuguese.
This position is open to any discipline and field of specialization within Latin American Studies. Particular consideration will be given to candidates who have a specialization within any of the following area studies: political/economic/social/cultural/historical perspectives on Latin America, Brazil, Afro-Latin American cultures, social movements, sub-regional studies. The candidate is expected to teach introductory courses in Latin America, a course on environmental issues in Latin America, and courses in the candidate's area of specialty. Teaching load is 3/3. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusiveness.
