Washington College invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Applied Cultural Anthropology to begin August, 2018. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated commitment to teaching excellence and an active record of engaging students in applied research. The ability to teach any of the following upper level courses is a plus, although we are open to other exciting ideas: medical anthropology; applied anthropology; myth, religion and magic; and anthropology of globalization. In addition to upper level courses, the successful candidate will teach introduction to cultural anthropology and contribute to the first-year seminar: https://www.washcoll.edu/about/first-year-programs-and-orientation/first-year-seminar/ Department members advise students and supervise senior theses. PhD in anthropology required. Geographical specialization outside of Latin America is preferred. Teaching load is 3-3.
