In collaboration with the Program in Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies, the Department of Anthropology at Tufts University seeks a tenure-track appointment for the Kathryn A. McCarthy Junior Professorship in Women’s Studies, to begin July 1, 2018.
We seek to hire a sociocultural anthropologist at the Assistant Professor level, whose work addresses gender and/or women, and uses feminist methodologies and/or analyses. The geographic area is open for this position, excluding South Asia, the Middle East, and non-indigenous U.S. The tenure line will be located in Anthropology, with the position shared with Women's, Gender, and Sexuality Studies. Possible courses include Doing Feminist Research, an anthropology course focusing on a geographic region of specialization, an introductory WGSS course, and/or gateway course in the anthropology of gender and sexuality.
Qualifications. A PhD in Anthropology, Women’s Studies, or a related field by time of appointment is required. Candidates must be actively engaged in a program of field research, with evidence of a strong record of scholarship and teaching.
